March 9 - 28, 2007

After the success of last year's "London Collects" exhibition, we have once again lent paintings to discerning London collectors for two weeks.

In February London collectors have been asked to hang a piece of art from the Michael Gibson gallery in their home or office.

WE have chosen each work of art for the client - something that the client perhaps would not have otherwise chosen. After the two weeks each collector will write about the experience of living with their particular work of art.

Greg Hardy
"Cumulus Building, Yellow Fields"
Acrylic on Canvas, 2006, 27 x 40 in.
"The beauty of the clouds and the layers of colour in them held my eyes. I immediately understood that this is the work of a very accomplished artist. The painting also said 'Canada' loud and clear. I was surprised at how the painting changed in different light but was always beautiful. I never tired of looking at the painting!"
Roly Fenwick
"Cape Road (Holding Place #3)"
Oil on Canvas, 1992, 18 x 24 in.
"The colours are more vibrant that I am used to with Roly Fenwick, and the sky is much lighter– though his sense of movement is still as strong as ever with the bending trees and the choppy grey water. Perhaps the lighter tones gave me more the sense of adventure and query of “what lies ahead?” The vibrancy of the green in the trees surprised me as I am not used to that kind of contrast to sky with Roly’s work. This is a very enjoyable and engaging piece."
Roly Fenwick
"Landscript Series - Genius Loci"
Oil on Linen, 2006, 32 x 48 in.

Harold Klunder
