Diana Thorneycroft is a Winnipeg artist who has exhibited various bodies of work across Canada, the United States and Europe, as well as in Moscow, Tokyo and Sydney. Her work has been the subject of Canadian national radio documentaries and a CBC national documentary for television.
She is the recipient of numerous awards including an Established Artist grant from the Canada Council, several Senior Arts Grants from the Manitoba Arts Council and a Fleck Fellowship from the Banff Centre for the Arts.
Thorneycroft's photo-based exhibition, The Body, its lesson and camouflage was on an eight city tour from 2000 to 2002. A book by the same name was published. Her most recent body of work The Canadiana Martyrdom Series was shown in Montreal in November 2005. Her series has also been included in recent group exhibitions in New York, Minneapolis and Hollywood, Florida.
Her work has been included in the 2002 released Phaidon Press publication Blink, which presents the work of 100 rising stars in photography. They have been selected by 10 world-class curators, each proposing 10 photographers who they consider to have emerged and broken new ground in the last five years.
