For the first month of 2010, we have chosen 10 artists who represent both our past exhibition year and the approaching year ahead. This past fall, we were honoured to show Aganetha Dyck, Ron Moppett and Will Gorlitz and have selected works by these three artists that best represent their exhibitions. Wanda Koop's VIEW from HERE exhibition last May was very memorable for the gallery. Her "Untitled (Red)" painting glows as a reminder of that brilliant month. Also in the front gallery we are featuring a subtle Jonathan Forrest abstract, recent Gerald Vaandering prints and a new painting by Melanie Authier, who has an exhibition this coming May. We are also taking the opportunity to introduce the work of Montreal artist Nadia Myre and London painter Jordan Broadworth.
In the middle gallery, in recognition of Michael Smith's current solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of Peel (Wresting Vision, Conjuring Place, January 13 - February 28), we have selected three recent paintings - our own mini-retrospective of work from the past four years.
