The Fringes April 3-25, 2009
Andrew Rucklidge's paintings are romantic visions of panoramic landscapes. With sweeping gestures and broad brushstokes Rucklidge creates fictional landscapes that are intensely layered. In between the turbulent clouds and mountains he etches intricate architectural drawings and delicate motifs.
His imaginary world morphs and changes: twisting and turning, writhing and swelling in beautiful sumptuous paint and wax.
Andrew Rucklidge was born in 1968. He received his MA from the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, UK in 2003. His work has been exhibited at Scope New York, London, Miami and Basel, Art Chicago, Frieze Art Fair and The Armory Show.
