This is the second exhibition with Melanie Authier. Born in Montreal, Authier graduated with a BFA from Concordia and recently completed her MFA at the University of Guelph (2006).

Her acrylic paintings are conceived in relation to concepts of travel, where each of her paintings is about a journey. As inventions of imaginary spaces each painting is a unique entity with its own identifying set of formal hierarchies, achieved through the layering process as well as the construction of planes that intersect, interweave and flip on themselves.

Melanie Authier won Honourable Mention in the 2007 RBC Painting Competition.
