Curnoe Book Exchange

On Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 2-4pm we shared some of Greg Curnoe’s vast personal book collection with the public. In exchange for one free Greg Curnoe book, we asked that each person write a cherished memory of Greg Curnoe. The memories consisted of stories about Greg, a meaningful question, a description of how his work was inspirational and poems about Greg.

Sheila Curnoe generously gave us a selection of Greg’s books for this exchange. The books, like Greg’s interests, are extremely diverse; there are books about poetry, military history, politics, comics, literature, wine, local history, and sports. Each book bears Greg’s signature and date of acquisition.

Each personal memory was recorded in a scrap book along with the book title, author and inscription. What we intend to create is a document that continues Greg’s legacy: a new book that acknowledges Greg’s commitment to collecting and his eternal thirst for knowledge.

If you were unable to make this event, please call Jennie at 519 439 0451 and she will match you with a book in exchange for your Greg Curnoe memory.
