The Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC) marks its 60th anniversary with a pop-up exhibition at Bau-Xi Gallery in Toronto, running from June 11, 2026, to June 14, 2026. The ADAC 60th Anniversary Pop-Up Exhibition, in support of the ADAC Foundation, presents 90+ works from 52 member galleries across the country, spanning the 1800s to the present day.
Founded in 1966 at the invitation of the Canada Council for the Arts, ADAC is the oldest trade organization for commercial art dealers in Canada. Its 64 members represent galleries from across Canada—from Victoria, B.C., to Halifax, Nova Scotia—that deal in contemporary, historical, modern, and international art. Michael Gibson Gallery joined the ADAC in 1998 with Michael Gibson, a past president, serving on the board for 9 years.
This 60th anniversary exhibition places historical and contemporary works in direct conversation. Works by Emily Carr, Annie Pootoogook, and Alex Colville are shown alongside those of Scott Sueme and James Carl, offering visitors a survey of Canadian art across generations, geographies, and mediums. It is is free to attend, and all works are available for purchase.
