Michael Snow (1928-2023)

We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our friend Michael Snow.

Michael Snow, what do we think about when we say that name?  His life story was an incredible journey of curiosity and conceptual ideas that only he could execute with his attention to detail and immense talent.

We have a note from him speaking about a 1963 drawing that Greg Curnoe drew while Michael was playing the piano at the Park Plaza in Toronto.  His always kind comments included a memory of their conversation from that particular time – Greg was in Toronto deciding he must go back to London, and Michael was just deciding that he should leave Toronto to go to New York.

A true 1963 box-car moment in Canadian art.
