Two Christopher Pratt prints are new to the gallery:

(above) Christopher Pratt, “Night on the Veranda”, Serigraph, 1986, 15 1/4 x 34 1/2 in. Artist Proof (edition of 55)

“Darkness beyond light; the unknown beyond the known; the distant beyond the immediate; past and future as one beyond the present.  Serious stuff.  I did a verandah painting in 1980 titled “Me and Bride”.  Bride went home; I got cold and came inside”. Christopher Pratt, 1991

Christopher Pratt, “On Water Street”, Lithograph, 1988, 13 x 26 in. 8/100

“This lithograph was commissioned by MUN for inclusion in “Newfoundland Editions, Portfolio 2: Images of St. John’s”.  It was printed at St. Michael’s Printshop.  “Water Street” has always been synonymous with “St. John’s”, especially in the eyes of people living in the outports, just as “Bay Street” may summarize Toronto in the minds of prairie farmers.  The images was based on a photograph I took myself in 1953″.  Christopher Pratt, 1991
